A jewel of diversity
In the cultural sense, Bosnia and Herzegovina is a jewel of diversity and multiculturalism, the point where East and West meet and permeate. In this unique European country, in its ancient cities, there are often mosques and synagogues, Catholic and Orthodox churches on the same street. Archaeological research confirms that organized tribal communities lived in this area as early as 12,000 years ago. Various spiritual and cultural customs were the basis of the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as one of the countries with the greatest natural and cultural diversity in Europe. Through generations affected by Illyrian, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman and Western European influences, the inhabitants of Bosnia and Herzegovina have maintained the pride of different ethnic origins that characterize this country today.
